Import your Goodreads library

Download your Goodreads library as a CSV and bring your books, ratings, shelves and reading dates into Logfolio.

Updated October 23, 2026

Upload the CSV that Goodreads makes and your books land in your Books log. Anyone can do this. Free brings in up to 20 books, newest first, and Pro brings them all.

Steps

  1. On the Goodreads website, open My Books, then Import and export.

  2. Click Export Library and download the CSV file it makes. Keep it as it is. You don't need to open it.

  3. In Logfolio, open Settings, then the Import & export tab.

  4. Click Choose a file, pick your Goodreads CSV, then click Import.

  5. When it's done, a box tells you how many books came over. Click its See button (like See 120 books) to open your Books log.

What comes over

  • Title, author, ISBN, and the book's original publication year (or your edition's year if there's no original).
  • Your star rating.
  • The date you read it, for books on your read shelf.
  • Your review, with line breaks kept (it stays private).
  • Your own shelves, as tags.
  • The format (Print, Ebook, or Audiobook) when Goodreads' binding makes it clear.
  • Books on currently-reading show as Reading, and to-read becomes Want to read. A shelf named did-not-finish, dnf, or abandoned marks those books as Dropped.

Good to know

  • Files can be up to 10 MB.
  • Uploading the same file again skips books you already have and leaves your edits alone. A book that's already in your log from StoryGraph or added by hand is skipped too.
  • Covers are looked up in the background after the import.
  • If the result says some books are over the free limit, upgrade and upload the same file again to bring the rest. See Import limits and duplicates.
